Imerge - headquartered in Cambridge, UK - is a recognised leader
in Internet-connected hard disk-based audio products and Media Appliances.
Products include the XiVA™ Media Appliance Technology, XiVA-Net Entertainment
Portal for music and video products and the revolutionary SoundServer range of
hard disk audio devices.
Its market-leading core technologies – XiVA™ and XiVA-Net - are licensed
extensively to manufacturers, household brands, software and service providers.
Imerge was created to build partnerships and licensing arrangements operating
as an extension to partner teams and as a third-party developer of CE media
appliance products. Imerge offers a long-term, flexible working relationship
and is committed to driving major growth for all its partners.
Imerge was created in 1997 and spun out of the Generics Group in September 1998
to develop advanced products and services for the converging markets of audio,
video, computer technology and the Internet. The company’s first products were
designed to store, categorise and forward video, audio and text to hard
disk-based products for use in commercial environments. Customers in this
sector have included RAW Communications, ABB and Future School.
In 2000, the company’s first consumer products hit the streets with the
now-successful SoundServer Hard Disk Music System range, based on Imerge’s core
technology, XiVA™. Licensee products using XiVA™ soon followed from February
2001 and now XiVA™ is rapidly becoming a de facto standard in this sector.
Imerge has qualified as one of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in
the eastern region in the Deloitte & Touche Eastern Fast 50 Programme. The
annual Fast 50 competition names the fifty fastest growing hi-tech and biotech
companies in the East of England based on figures for the last three years.
Claiming a place in the top 50 in a region that is home to some of the
country's most successful and innovative companies represents a major
achievement for Imerge.
